Book vs Movie Club
From 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Mt Zion District Library. This club is designed for Junior High students (13 years old) through Young Adults! We will be reading a book each month during the summer and when we meet will will watch the movie based on the book. After we watch the movie we will do a comparison about which one we liked better and why. Each book will also be an Accelerated Reader book so that you will be able to gain your needed points for school as well as have fun reading this summer! We will be reading Maze Runner, copies are available at the front desk for check out.

Finders Flea Market
Home, garden, arts, craft, antique and farmers market. From 10 am to 4 pm at the Lions Pavilion and grounds. Held the last Saturday of every month from May thru October.

Marching Music Games
Watch 15 marching bands compete for grand champion at the Mt Zion High School. Music, food and fun for the entire family! 2 pm parade, 6 pm competition.

Friday October 3
Halloween Pottery Class
From 10 am to 11:30 am. Receive three squares (3X3) to put the letters B-O-O and decorate with festive designs. After these pieces are fired they will be strung together to hang on the door or wall to spice up the Halloween season. Register at Village Hall or call Next of Kiln at 864.9300 to register. Fee is $14.

Homecoming Parade
Starts at 6 pm followed by Braves Bash where the King and Queen are crowned.

Mt Zion Lions Club Candy Day event at the four way stop on Main Street in front of the post office.

Saturday October 11
Targeting the Cure Walk/Run
Sponsored by MTZ Armory LLC and MTZ Auto. 1 mile walk/run, 5K run or 10K run at Fletcher Park. Packet pickup/race day registration 6:30 am to 7:30 am, race/walk starts at 8 am. $20 early registration fee, $25 day of race fee. 3 wards given in each age group for male/femail in the 5K and 10K. From 7:30 am to 11:30 am at the Mt Zion high school cafetorium. Join the Mt.Zion Les Femmes & enjoy a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast! Great way to give back to our local Show Choir & Get to know others in the community. Pre-sale tickets $5 (available for purchase through Les Femmes members), $6 at the door.

Doors open at 1:30 pm, show from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. Fee is $4 per adult and $1 per child. Proceeds go benefit the fundraiser for Fletcher Park Splash Pad.

American Girl Club
Join us as we learn about history and culture by using the American Girl stories. Each meeting includes activities or crafts that bring history to life at 4:30 pm at the Mt Zion District library. For ages 7 years old through through 6th grade.

Enjoy a few games of Bingo at Fletcher Park Recreation Center from 10 am to 11 am. Prizes are sweet and salty treats and the games are free.

Ticket fee includes a large assortment of appetizers; cash bar; entry into the haunted bash with the Rosetta Stone Band; a chance to enter the costume contest for prizes; and a night of spooktacular fun! Frosty 5K
Stay warm this winter and keep moving at the Mt Zion Odd Fellow’s Frosty 5K. 11 am race will start and end at the Mt Zion Odd Fellows Lodge located on Main St downtown. Entrants will receive a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 Visa gift card and all you can eat hot meal / refreshments. A minimum of 2 awards per age division. Limited to the first 90 entrants only so make sure to sign up quickly. Registration is only $12. Registration form can be found on www.mtzionoddfellows.org.
