Magic the Gathering
The Hidden Lair will be at the Mt Zion District Library at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm to teach teens 13 yrs and older how to play what is the worlds premier trading card game. New players will receive a free starter deck, everyone gets How to Play instruction. There will be light snacks provided. Must register in advance.

The Fletcher Park Kids Club presents The Gary Strong Marionette Show, Doodles the Dragon and Granny Giggle. Doors open at 1:30 pm, 2 pm to 3:30 pm show in the Fletcher Park Recreation Center. Concessions, live entertainment, old time movies, classic cartoons and prizes. Tickets are $4 per adult and $1 per child available at the door. Proceeds help fund the Fletcher Park Splash Pad.

USPS Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before the letter carrier delivers mail, the carrier will do all the rest. Food is taken back to the postal station, sorted and then delivered to an area food bank or pantry.

3rd Annual Hercules Challenge
5K race and 1 mile fun run presented by the Mt Zion Elementary Community Club. Check-in and parking at Fletcher Park. All proceeds directly benefit Mt Zion elementary schools pre-K through 6th. DJ, food, awards presentation after the race - medallions for all participants! Pre-register online at www.getmeregistered.com by May 1 or from 7:30 am to 8:15 am on race day. Start times: 5K at 9 am, 1 mile fun run at 9:15 am.

American Girl Club
Join the the Mt Zion District Library from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm as they introduce the history and culture of the different settings surrounding the American Girl stories, enjoy fun activities, and more. This month meet Marisol Luna and learn about the history of ballet and folklorico dance. This program is limited to children 7 years of age and older. Please register.

Fourth annual Odd Fellows 5K/10K race at Fletcher Park. Entrants are guaranteed a short sleeve Dri-Fit tshirt if registered by July 5, same day registrants will receive a shirt while supplies last. A minimum of three awards in each age division will be given. Post race breakfast, refreshments and door prizes! 6:30 am to 7:30 am packet pickup, 8 am race/walk start time. $18 fee if postmarked by July 19, $23 fee after July 21 thru race day. International Overdose Awareness Day 5K
2nd Annual International Overdose Awareness Day 5K Run/Walk. The Race will be the regular Mt Zion course beginning and ending at Fletcher Park. Check in will start at 6:30 am the morning of the race, 8 am start. There will be shirts for all preregistered entrants. Shirts will be available the day of the race until supply is exhausted. Forms should be available sometime in April 2014 at www.overdoseawareness.com.

Odd Fellows Duathalon
Mt Zion Odd Fellows Duathlon at the Pony Express Grounds. 2 mile run and a 13 mile bike ride followed by a 2 mile run to the finish. Entrants are guaranteed a short sleeve Dri-Fit tshirt if registration is received by August 23. Award ceremony following event. Food, drinks and after party on the Lions Center Pony Express grounds. Non-participant food tickets will be available. A minimum of three awards in each age division will be given. For Relay Teams one trophy will be awarded to overall division winner. Registration and packet pickup 7 am to 9 am, 10 am start time. Entry Forms must be received by Sept. 6. Registration form can be found on www.decaturrunningclub.com website.

Frosty 5K
Stay warm this winter and keep moving at the Mt Zion Odd Fellow’s Frosty 5K. 11 am race will start and end at the Mt Zion Odd Fellows Lodge located on Main St downtown. Entrants will receive a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 Visa gift card and all you can eat hot meal / refreshments. A minimum of 2 awards per age division. Limited to the first 90 entrants only so make sure to sign up quickly. Registration is only $12. Registration form can be found on www.mtzionoddfellows.org.
