International Overdose Awareness Day 5K
2nd Annual International Overdose Awareness Day 5K Run/Walk. The Race will be the regular Mt Zion course beginning and ending at Fletcher Park. Check in will start at 6:30 am the morning of the race, 8 am start. There will be shirts for all preregistered entrants. Shirts will be available the day of the race until supply is exhausted. Forms should be available sometime in April 2014 at www.overdoseawareness.com.

Home, garden, arts, craft, antique and farmers market. From 10 am to 4 pm at the Lions Pavilion and grounds. Held the last Saturday of every month from May thru October.

From 4 pm to 8 pm at Four-Star Family Restaurant. $10 entry fee - all cars/trucks and motorcycles welcome. Door prizes, 50/50 and DJ. All proceeds go directly to help raise awareness to prevent child abuse in Macon County.

Odd Fellows Duathalon
Mt Zion Odd Fellows Duathlon at the Pony Express Grounds. 2 mile run and a 13 mile bike ride followed by a 2 mile run to the finish. Entrants are guaranteed a short sleeve Dri-Fit tshirt if registration is received by August 23. Award ceremony following event. Food, drinks and after party on the Lions Center Pony Express grounds. Non-participant food tickets will be available. A minimum of three awards in each age division will be given. For Relay Teams one trophy will be awarded to overall division winner. Registration and packet pickup 7 am to 9 am, 10 am start time. Entry Forms must be received by Sept. 6. Registration form can be found on www.decaturrunningclub.com website.

Targeting the Cure Walk/Run
Sponsored by MTZ Armory LLC and MTZ Auto. 1 mile walk/run, 5K run or 10K run at Fletcher Park. Packet pickup/race day registration 6:30 am to 7:30 am, race/walk starts at 8 am. $20 early registration fee, $25 day of race fee. 3 wards given in each age group for male/femail in the 5K and 10K. Join us as we learn about history and culture by using the American Girl stories. Each meeting includes activities or crafts that bring history to life at 4:30 pm at the Mt Zion District library. For ages 7 years old through through 6th grade.

Haunted Halloween Bash
At the Mt.Zion Convention Center from 8 pm to midnight, doors open at 7:30 pm. $15 in advance/$18 at the door (based upon availability). Ticket fee includes a large assortment of appetizers; cash bar; entry into the haunted bash with the Rosetta Stone Band; a chance to enter the costume contest for prizes; and a night of spooktacular fun! Frosty 5K
Stay warm this winter and keep moving at the Mt Zion Odd Fellow’s Frosty 5K. 11 am race will start and end at the Mt Zion Odd Fellows Lodge located on Main St downtown. Entrants will receive a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 Visa gift card and all you can eat hot meal / refreshments. A minimum of 2 awards per age division. Limited to the first 90 entrants only so make sure to sign up quickly. Registration is only $12. Registration form can be found on www.mtzionoddfellows.org.
