Teen Fright Night
At the Mt Zion District Library from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. Wear a costume (optional) and bring out the screams to celebrate the most deliciously horrifying holiday of the year. This haunted extravaganza will include a costume contest, horror movie trivia, pumpkin carving, snacks and more! For teens (ages 13 to 18) only. Must register by calling 864.3622 by October 17.

Haunted Halloween Bash
At the Mt.Zion Convention Center from 8 pm to midnight, doors open at 7:30 pm. $15 in advance/$18 at the door (based upon availability). Ticket fee includes a large assortment of appetizers; cash bar; entry into the haunted bash with the Rosetta Stone Band; a chance to enter the costume contest for prizes; and a night of spooktacular fun! Sponsored by Skeff Distributing, Cromwell Radio; and the Village of Mt. Zion. Tickets available starting August 28 at the Village of Mt Zion or call 864.5424.

Finders Flea Market
Final home, garden, arts, craft, antique and farmers market of the year! From 10 am to 4 pm at the Lions Pavilion and grounds. Held the last Saturday of every month from May thru October.

Pumpkin Painting
Do not miss the annual pumpkin painting event at the Mt Zion District Library from 10 am to 11 am! Event will include Halloween treats and crafts. Pumpkins are provided but dress for mess as acrylic paint is used and stains. For children ages 3 to 18. Children ages 3 and 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Benefit for Christmas Fund
Benefit for the Mt Zion Community Childrens Christmas fund at 4 pm at the Mt Zion United Methodist Church. This Broadway showcase will feature songs from musicals with talents from the Reverend Ted Hartley, Andrea Pope, Katherine Smith and Reverend Joel Stevenor. No ticket fee, donations only.

The activities in this program involve experiments, investigation, discussion, and reflection while centering around STEM learning. At 4:30 pm at the Mt Zion District library. For ages 7 years old through 6th grade. This month explore engineering and technology!

Instruction provided by Sincerely Pigeon Studio: Create your own Home Décor Canvas Painting. Easy enough for the beginner. Let us know colors for your home décor and we will provide the supplies. At Goodwin Park between 10 am to 2 pm. Celebrating 10 years of the Mt Zion Trail 2004-2014! Sponsored by the Mt Zion Parks & Recreation Commission. Come out and walk 0.5 mile, 1 mile, or 3 miles (or as far as you want)! Incentive prizes will be handed out. Snacks will be provided. Walkers, strollers, and bicycle riders welcome.

At the Mt Zion District Library from 10 am to 12 pm. Make a small gift box, stamped tiles, magnet gems, alcohol ink pendant, photo/recipe holder or dimensional pumpkin. Member of the Macon County Home and Community Education group will lead you through 6 projects that you can make and take. Participants can choose up to 4 projects.This program is free, but must register by calling 864.3622 by November 8 to ensure enough supplies.

Christmas Dueling Piano Show
From 6 pm to 9 pm at the Mt Zion Convention Cente, doors open at 5:30pm. Presented by Sav Mor Pharmacy. Tickets cost: $20 for ages 11 and up, $10 for ages 10 and under. Ticket includes dinner, dessert station, ice tea, lemonade, water or coffee. Tickets go on sale September 12th.

Christmas Parade
Annual Mt Zion Community Christmas Parade, hosted by the Mt Zion Lions Club, starts at 6 pm. Parade Route - Main Street from the First Baptist Church/Grade School to the Firehouse. Hot chocolate, cookies and Santa will be available at the Firehouse after the parade. If interested in placing an entry into the parade, contact TrevBrthrs@hotmail.com or 217.620.3350. Information needed: 1) Type of Float/Entry and number of participants and 2) Main Entry Contact Person (name, phone number, and e-mail). Staging is at the Baptist Church on Main street across from Mt Zion Grade School around 5 pm. Main Entry Contact will be notified for line-up details, etc. after all interested entries are received. No charge for entry into the Christmas Parade and tossing of candy is welcomed and encouraged!

Frosty 5K
Stay warm this winter and keep moving at the Mt Zion Odd Fellow’s Frosty 5K. 11 am race will start and end at the Mt Zion Odd Fellows Lodge located on Main St downtown. Entrants will receive a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 Visa gift card and all you can eat hot meal / refreshments. A minimum of 2 awards per age division. Limited to the first 90 entrants only so make sure to sign up quickly. Registration is only $12. Registration form can be found on www.mtzionoddfellows.org.
