Mt Zion Lions Club annual egg hunt. Age groups are 0-3 year olds, 4-6 year olds, 7-8 year olds and 9-10 year olds. At the Lions Club starting at 10 am sharp!

From 10 am to 12 pm at the Mt Zion District Library. Join the Lego fun - includes movie, Lego building and snacks. For ages 1st grade to 6th grade. Registration required, call 864.3622 to register.

Pastel Party
From 1 pm to 2:30 pm at the Mt Zion District Library. Create like Van Gogh while learning the basics of soft pastel techniques from childrens librarian and artist, CC Barding. For ages 1st grade to 6th grade. Space is limited, call 864.3622 to register.

Easter Egg Hunt
At Fletcher Park. Age groups: 1 to 4 year olds, 5 to 8 year olds, 9 to 12 year olds. Candy and cash prizes. Registration from 10 am to 10:50 am. The egg hunt starts at 11 am sharp! Call 864.3300 for any questions.

Canvas Photo Art
At 6 pm at the Mt Zion District Library. Bring your photo and 8 inch x 10 inch canvas and we will provide the supplies to create a special piece of art ready to display in your home. We will lead you step-by-step through a project that replicates the look of a photo printed on canvas. Requirements: you MUST email a good quality digital photo by April 1 to: director@mtzion.lib.il.us and register at 864.3622.

Kids Club - Storybook Wonders
At Fletcher Park Recreation Center. Doodles the Dragon, Granny Giggles and the Gary Strong Marionette Show. Concessions, live entertainment, old time movies, classic cartoons and prizes. Doors open at 1:30 pm show is at 2 pm. Fee: $4 per adult and $1 per child. Proceeds to Fletcher Park Splash Pad.

Monday April 13
National Library Week Celebration
From 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Mt Zion district library. Celebrate National Library Week by creating a special craft in the childrens area. For ages 3 to 12, children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration not required, this is a drop in program.

The Macon County Health Department is offering residents a chance to participate in an emergency response training program during April. The Community Emergency Response Team Program consists of 20 hours of classroom and hands-on disaster training, and will conclude with an exercise drill designed to allow participants to apply the knowledge and skills learned during the course. Classes held from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Mt Zion Fire Department. This program is free and open to the public. Those interested in participating in this program are asked to RSVP by April 1 by calling 423.6988, extension 1131 or extension 1133. April 13 course is Disaster Preparedness & CERT Organization.

A drop site will be provided for Village and Township residents to discard large items from 9 am to 2 pm at the Township Garage. Please no chemicals, paints, tires, household garbage, fencing, wire or yard waste. Appliances accepted, please drain the Freon from appliances and remove the doors. Join the American Diabetes Association for an evening of food, fun and pig kissing at 6 pm at the Mt Zion Convention Center! Event includes heavy hors doeuvres, complimentary beer and wine, live & silent auction items, photo booth, wine wall and games. Theme: Be transported to Monte Carlo, as we are Betting on a Cure.
